The iPhone 3G has been out for a month now. Are you one of the trendy few who are still waiting in line at the Apple Store for a chance to give AT&T a hundred bucks a month? Well if you can hold out a little while longer you'll be able to stand in line at your local Best Buy store for the chance to give AT&T a hundred bucks a month. I assume opening another front in the war on non-iPhone-phones means that the number of units on the ground will increase, but who knows...I like to presume the worst will happen, like this: So you go to your local Best Buy a month or two from now to stand in line at 5:30am because you heard from a friend who heard from someone that they MIGHT get a few Wiis in on that day. At 9am when the employees start showing up for work they inform everyone that you are all fools and there will be no Wiis. Determined to prove this minimum wage employee of Best Buy wrong you plan on sticking it out to finally buy that iPhone you've heard so much about from the 14 year old emo daughter of your neighbor. Let's assume they are in stock and you actually purchase one. Given Best Buy's track record with empty boxes of merchandise I think we can all see where this is going... Imagine getting home and opening that iPhone box up to realize ZOMG it's full of rocks!!! =(. Not only is that minimum wage Best Buy employee enjoying your new iPhone, but you are stuck giving AT&T a hundred bucks a month...

Your blog makes little to no sense. I own at least 10 products from Best Buy and have never gotten an empty box. Maybe I am misunderstanding you on this point. Also the iphone requires in store activation so you would see your product before you ever leave the store, which you should do with any product before you go home with it.
It CAN happen to you. A friend of mine got an empty box from Circuit City instead of an Ipod last year. It was full of paper and a broken cell phone.
Also the Iphone doesn't have to be activated at the store, you can do it online like I did
I'm not saying it never happens, but I would say someone who does look at something they just bought I'm the store has themselves to blame at least a little. Also, it is not the norm to activate the iPhone outside the store. My main point is that Best Buy is a fine store with a lot to offer consumers. I don't see what people have against it or the iPhone. I guess it's just cool to hate things that are sucessful.
