2008 was a lot like 2005: There are definitely some albums that came out that are worth a listen, but overall, it wasn't what I would consider to be a great year in music. However, looking over my entire collection of music released within the year, there are certainly a few that I think will always "take me back" to this point in time. With that, I present my year-in-music review including my Top 10 Albums of 2008:

The Bees Knees: Top 10 Albums of 2008
Christmas Comes Early To Kansas City via Clark Hunt
Clark Hunt relinquished Carl Peterson of all three of his official titles today: General Manager/President & CEO (I don't care what anyone says: He "resigned" on paper only. He was fired, plain and simple. Carl would have stayed with that team forever if they'd let him). Already there are rumors of the Chiefs going after Marty Schottenheimer and Scott Pioli...both of whom were on my list of potential replacements I posted on this page months before today's breaking news.
Goddammit, it's Teh Perfect Crime! lol!
Axl Rose SWEARS this time that Chinese Democracy will be released on November 23rd. For those of you not familiar with the storied legend of this album, it's basically been promised to us about 200+ times within the last ten years. This date is supposedly official this time, but like many, I'll believe it when I see it. And even then, I still may be a bit cynical. The Bees Knees: Top 5 GM's and Coaches The Chiefs Should Consider in 2009
I love the Chiefs...and have for almost 20 years. Ever since the 1991 season when my dad and I would don our red shirts every Sunday and watch Steve DeBerg and Christian Okoye lead the "Martyball" offense, and Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith hammer out a crushing defense, I've rarely missed a game. So, you can see why - being as I wasn't around to watch the wretched Chiefs of the 70s and 80s - it hurts to watch a team I'm so used to seeing in playoff contention (or at the very least winning 7 or 8 games) play the way they have the last few years.
Weezer: The Ulysses S. Grant of Rock Bands
Remember 10 years ago when Weezer was just another awesome rock band who put out two amazing records, and then fell off the face of the Earth? For years I considered myself to be a genuine Weezer fan. If you asked me if I liked Weezer, I would say, "Yes...I like Weezer."
Then, like, five years later they made this "comeback" of sorts, and as much as we appreciated it, it just wasn't the same. All the sudden, with every subsequent release, the good-song-to-bad-song-ratio slowly became more and more lopsided.
NEW YORK JETS ACQUIRE BRETT FAVRE
You heard it here first...
FROM NFL.COM
Brett Favre will be trading one shade of green for another as a member of the Jets.
The New York Jets have acquired quarterback Brett Favre from the Green Bay Packers, the team announced in a statement early on Thursday morning.
History International: The History Channel For Adults
Corey often gets on my case about not contributing enough, when often times, I have an idea for a story and begin brainstorming it, just so that I can log in one day and he's already written it. Such is the case here with The History Channel. While I may not have all the fancy "paragraphs" and "headers" and fancy "proper spelling and grammar" that Corey has, I still feel like I have a point to make. And while I was originally going to just post a reply in Corey's thread, I decided my perspective was at least different enough to warrant a different entry. And I checked the Official Blackenheimer rule book, and it doesn't say anything about reruns.
Teh Dark Knight: It Hungers For More
Saw "The Dark Knight" yesterday. When all the buzz about Heath Ledger started emerging my first thought was, "Oh great. Another guy guy dies, and now all the sudden he's a legend..."
But, wow...his performance was awesome. Excellent delivery. He rivals Jack Nicholson for best Joker, and I never thought I would think that in a million years...
